Harnessing Technology: A strategy to prevent Natural Disasters and Facilitate Recovery.

Central Japan’s western coast was hit by a strong earthquake measuring 7.6 on the rector scale on 01 jan, 2024. Tsunami waves were recorded after the quake near the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa. The Fire and Disaster Management Agency warned the people of the place to vacate immediately and move to a safer place. As per the reports of the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake’s epicentre was at a depth of 16 km, and many precautionary steps are being taken to prevent the loss of life.

As per the reports of a standard News Agency, the first quake of 5.7 magnitude was at 4:06 pm JST on Monday 01 Jan 2024, followed by a 7.6-magnitude earthquake at 4:10 pm JST and a 4.8-magnitude quake at 4:32 pm JST.

Natural disasters are devastating, cause unimaginable damage to the life and property of a nation, and significantly hamper development.
